Fabric Crayon vs Dye Stick

We've been using fabric crayons for projects forever, it never gets old! Our favorite thing to make with them is pillows. The only "important" thing to remember is because you draw on paper & then transfer to fabric your image will be reversed which is important if your doing any letters or numbers. I obviously forgot this rule despite my many years of using them, the date in the corner is backwards!
The other important thing with these is its best to use a poly / cotton blend.

Dye Sticks Crayons
I LOVE these even more than traditional fabric crayons for several reasons.
You draw right on the fabric, you don't  have to worry about mirror image &
the colors are nice & bright.

SEW EXCITING!

I’d like to dedicate today’s post to my mom who would have turned 76 today. Sadly she passed away 21 years ago at the too young age of 55. She taught me how to sew when I was young and by the time I was 12 I was making all my own clothes. Now in order to sew you need fabric, and every seamstress has their stash, usually a ridiculously large stash that you’ll never put a dent in but you keep adding to it, buying fabric that you just need to have! I think we sew as an excuse to buy fabric! She got to see my art in a lot of places but I think she would have gotten a real kick out of going into joann fabric stores and seeing so many of my prints. I haven’t sewn in a few years now but this weekend I did add to my stash, just in case…!

Here is just a little sampling of what I have there, also a couple of links to more.
